This course will take you on a journey through the Galapagos Islands, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Amazon rainforest in South America. Both of these places are excellent for studying biology because of the diversity and wealth of flora and fauna that are found there. The Galapagos is one of the richest marine ecosystems in the world while the Amazon contains one in ten known species on Earth. This course will not only introduce you to some of the unique plants and animals found in these regions but it will also give insights to the genetics and understanding of how Charles Darwin was able to formulate his theory of evolution upon his visit to the Galapagos.
